The grand finale of the celebrated project “The Era of Expression” returns to Vilnius after an impressive journey through Vilnius, Kaunas, and the Baltic coast, culminating in a triumphant final performance at the LVSO Concert Hall on September 10, 2026. The concert unites the expressive forces of piano and strings, featuring world-renowned pianist Petras Geniušas and the NIKO Ensemble led by composer Gediminas Gelgotas.

The evening’s repertoire features works by minimalist and post-minimalist composers, including Philip Glass, Henryk Mikołaj Górecki, Ludovico Einaudi, Gediminas Gelgotas, and others. Petras Geniušas – Piano
A virtuoso pianist, laureate of numerous international competitions and the Lithuanian National Culture and Arts Award, Professor at LMTA. Geniušas has performed in over 40 countries and is celebrated for his versatility and experimental approach to music, spanning classical, romantic, and contemporary repertoire. Awards include the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas Order (2015) and WIPO Award (2004).
Gediminas Gelgotas – Composer & Artistic Director
One of Lithuania’s leading contemporary composers, Gelgotas combines minimalist aesthetics with multi-stylistic influences. His music captivates both classical connoisseurs and innovative audiences. Recognitions include Vilnius Saint Christopher Award (2015) and Lithuania’s Ministry of Culture Young Creator Award.
NIKO Ensemble – Vilnius City Chamber Orchestra
Founded in 2006 by Gediminas Gelgotas, NIKO is a string ensemble pushing the boundaries of classical music. Its members are internationally and nationally awarded musicians, representing Lithuania in prestigious events and performing in venues such as Carnegie Hall (Weill Recital Hall), Zürich Tonhalle, and Grand Théâtre de Provence. Their 2024 album “Consonance” was released by Warner Classics.
