Created according to the principles of the Open Circle Theatre Laboratory, the performance is based on real-life stories, actors’ improvisations developed during rehearsals, and elements of storytelling. It encourages us to pause and notice the stories we often overlook — to listen to voices that are rarely heard in everyday life.
Director Justas Tertelis, together with the actors and creative team, explores the unique worlds of people living with neurodiversity. The performance invites neurotypical audiences to see reality from a different perspective, broaden their understanding, and rethink the boundaries of what is considered “normal.”
In “Spectrum”, viewers encounter a wide range of personal narratives that help break down stereotypes about autistic people and offer a deeper understanding of the diverse experiences that shape the world around us.
The performance is based on the book “Autism – A Part of Me” by Jurgita Žalgirytė-Skurdenienė and Barbora Suisse. The publication presents, for the first time in Lithuania, stories of autistic adults, revealing their everyday experiences, challenges, and the ways they navigate life with autism.
