Domantas Razmus | Scratching the Surface

“Scratching the Surface” is an exceptional solo performance by Domantas Razmus, which combines sensory percussion, electronic music and real-time controlled visual projections. Each movement and impact of the performer on stage not only creates sound, but also changes the image on the screen, so the music and visuals are born at the same time, becoming a single audiovisual work.

This is not an ordinary percussion concert. The traditional sound of drums is complemented by electronic sounds, unexpected textures, improvisation and technology. Sensory instruments become a living interface between a person and a computer, and each composition is a unique world of sounds, rhythms and images. The viewer is invited not only to listen, but also to watch how the music instantly takes on visual form.

Domantas Razmus is a drummer, percussionist and composer of the young generation of Lithuanian jazz and improvisational music. He graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre with a degree in jazz performance, and is a laureate of the Tamsta DrumDay and Vilnius Jazz Young Power competitions. Having been playing music professionally since the age of eighteen, the performer has collaborated with famous Lithuanian musicians and guests from abroad, and has participated in various jazz, improvisational and experimental music projects.

The album Scratching the Surface was released in 2025, and in its nine compositions Domantas Razmus explores the possibilities of acoustic percussion, electronics and modern technologies. The project was first presented live at the international festival Percussion Ukmergė 2025, where the performer’s first solo performance also took place.

On the evening of October 29, a concert awaits those who are looking for new musical experiences and want to see up close how rhythm, electronics and image merge into one living organism.

The choir project is partly funded by the Vilnius City Municipality.
