JOHANNES SKUDLIK
(organ, Germany)
There are works that don’t need to be introduced – the first few sounds are enough. Johann Sebastian Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor is one of them. And this time it will be heard at the concert of Johannes Skudlik – a performer whose name is associated with the great stages of the world.
Born in Munich and growing up in Barcelona, the musician has performed in concerts on the most famous stages around the world – from the Berlin Philharmonic and Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie to Venice’s La Fenice and Barcelona’s Sagrada Familia.
As a conductor, he works with prestigious symphony orchestras, and as an organist, he has played the legendary instruments at Paris’ Notre Dame, the Cologne Cathedral, Vienna’s St Stephen’s Cathedral and other exclusive shrines.
St Casimir’s Church will play host to a programme combining the golden collection of the organ repertoire. This is music that combines grandeur, drama and inner peace.
Programme features music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Théodore Dubois, Léon Boëllmann and others
