SNOW – PERFORMANCE FOR TEENAGERS AND YOUNG PEOPLE*
Sometimes, telling your story requires a great deal of courage.
“Snow”* is a performance for teenagers and young people, presented at Vileišio18 Art Spaces in Vilnius.
Please note that the performance deals with sexual violence, suicide and drug abuse.
How can we talk about things that no one talks about with children and teenagers? No one wants to listen? This is a realistic story about two sisters whose mother, who used drugs, is in prison, while they themselves live with their stepfather. It is a story about things that cannot be kept silent. They need to be talked about openly. And although the performance addresses extremely painful subjects, it does so sensitively, simply and with sincere youthful humour.
* “I can’t say bad words because no one will listen to our story. But I know what to do. If I want to say a bad word, I can say ‘snow’ instead. Or ‘snowflake’. Or ‘snow-covered’. That is why you will hear the word ‘snow’ more than 40 times during the performance.”
