RIVER Concert ir Beatbox Meets Piano battle

One evening, the DOWNTOWN PIANO LAB stage will host a fusion of world-class beatboxing, improvisation, and spirited musical battles.

The evening culminates in an exclusive concert by RIVER. Enzo Fumex—an artist of French and Colombian heritage—is one of the most prominent names in contemporary beatboxing. After becoming the French beatbox champion in 2018, he triumphed at the prestigious “Grand Beatbox Battle,” cementing his status as one of the most recognizable artists of the new generation.

Today, RIVER performs worldwide—from clubs in Tokyo and New York to venues in Colombia, major European stages, and the legendary Glastonbury Festival. Yet, his greatest strength lies not in his titles, but in his ability to transform the human voice into an entire musical universe.

BEATBOX MEETS PIANO BATTLE

Preceding the RIVER concert is a beatbox battle format never before seen in Lithuania. In the qualifying round, the country’s best beatboxers will each deliver a three-minute solo performance—just the artist and the microphone.

A world-class panel of judges will evaluate participants based on musicality, technique, showmanship, and other criteria. The four strongest performers will advance to the battle stage to face off head-to-head.

Each battle will consist of two 90-second rounds, featuring live piano accompaniment by virtuoso Vytautas Straižys. It is an unpredictable dialogue between voice and piano, where every improvisation is born in the moment. The judges will announce their verdict immediately after each battle. The audience can look forward to two semi-finals, a third-place play-off, and the grand final.

The first-place winner will receive a cash prize and a private piano or vocal lesson with Vytautas Straižys.

RIVER’ BEATBOX WORKSHOP

Before the battles begin, RIVER’ will host a 45-minute practical beatbox workshop followed by a 15-minute Q&A session. This is an opportunity to learn from a world-class performer, discover the basics of beatboxing, or refine existing skills. Everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of prior experience.
