On July 2 at 3:00 PM, the exhibition “Tarp formos ir nuojautos” (“Between Form and Intuition”) by Jūratė Čibiraitė Bytautienė opens at the Lithuanian Medical Library.
Jūratė Čibiraitė Bytautienė graduated in medicine from Vilnius University and worked as a medical microbiologist at Santaros Clinics.
She has always been interested in art, theatre, and music, but did not dare to draw for a long time, doubting whether she would succeed.
She recalls that one day, caught in the rain, she ran into an art supplies shop in Žvėrynas. There she noticed a table where artist and watercolor painter Vija Tarabildienė was teaching watercolor painting. She decided to try, but when the pandemic started, the lessons were interrupted. After that, she began painting independently, experimenting with various techniques: dry pastel, acrylic, pencils, and others.
Her first exhibition took place in 2023 at the Vilnius TECH Library Gallery. In 2024, she exhibited at the Tomas Zakas Library, followed by several other exhibitions in different venues.
She received encouragement and advice from artist Eugenija Martinaitytė, her daughter fashion designer Dalia, and her son Jonas, a graphic designer, who helped prepare this exhibition. Her husband Ramūnas carried out the framing work.
