Eurovision Stars Marcus & Martinus Are Coming to Vilnius

On August 4, one of the brightest Eurovision sensations, the Norwegian twin duo Marcus & Martinus, will perform at the unique Lukiškės Prison 2.0 venue in Vilnius. The artists, who have millions of fans across Europe, are coming to Lithuania following their impressive appearance at the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest, where they represented Sweden with the hit song “Unforgettable.”

Marcus and Martinus Gunnarsen are identical twins from Norway who rose to fame at a young age. Their career began in 2012 when, at just ten years old, they won Norway’s Melodi Grand Prix Junior with the song “To dråper vann.”

Since then, Marcus & Martinus have become one of Scandinavia’s most popular pop acts. Their debut album Hei reached No. 1 on the Norwegian album charts, while the hit single “Elektrisk” remained on the charts for 66 weeks. They later released successful albums including Together, Moments, and Unforgettable, with songs such as “Girls,” “Heartbeat,” “Air,” and “Unforgettable” accumulating hundreds of millions of streams.

In 2024, the duo became a major Eurovision sensation. After winning Sweden’s national selection competition Melodifestivalen, they represented Sweden at Eurovision in Malmö with “Unforgettable.” They finished ninth in the Grand Final with 174 points. Their performance attracted significant attention thanks to its futuristic staging, choreography, and the song’s popularity among fans.

Interestingly, although the performers are Norwegian, they represented Sweden at Eurovision, generating considerable media coverage and fan interest across Europe.

Over their decade-long career, Marcus & Martinus have received numerous awards, including prestigious Norwegian Spellemannprisen awards, international Bravo Otto honors, and Sweden’s Rockbjörnen Group of the Year title.
