Kalle Tikas (Estonia) and Algis Fediajevas at Miesto laboratorija

On 19 August at 8.00 pm, an evening of unique guitar music awaits you at Miesto Laboratorija. Two performances are on the programme: Kalle Tikas from Estonia and Algis Fediajevas will be performing.

Kalle Tikas is a guitarist from Estonia with an original sound, blending elements of blues, avant-garde and dark country music. Known as a member of the duo Ringhold, Kalle has also been performing as a solo artist for many years. Having begun his musical journey in the 1990s in various blues and progressive rock bands, he later became involved in the free improvisation scene, whilst also composing music for the theatre. In 2015, together with experimental music vocalist Eleonora Kampe, they formed Ringhold, a band that has also influenced Kalle’s solo work.

Algis Fediajevas. A shaman of acoustic psychedelia with a unique sound, whose work—based on the dialogue between his acoustic guitar and voice—blazes new trails. In his music, we hear bright, meditative echoes—at times folky, at times Eastern—as well as bursts of noise. Experimenting both with song form (which makes no exception for instrumental improvisations) and with the possibilities of the acoustic guitar (we hear unusual harmonies produced solely by his hands), Algis has released four solo albums and performed in numerous European countries. He is currently working on a new album.
