Sounds on a Plate: Paulius Vaškas

Is it rude to eat while listening to music? There’s no better place to find out than Miesto laboratorija (City Laboratory).

On July 23 at 8:00 PM, join us for Sounds on a Plate, a unique event series where music and food come together.

The idea is simple: enjoy carefully selected music while tasting a dish inspired by the featured artist. Throughout the evening, Miesto laboratorija’s chefs will prepare the musician’s favorite meal—or their own creative interpretation of it. Whether it’s pasta with nettles or a gluten-free crêpe, we’ll explore how flavors and sounds complement one another (and try not to choke while humming along).

Our first featured guest is Paulius Vaškas, performing a rare solo set. Those familiar with his work know this is a performance not to be missed. What culinary inspiration he will bring to the kitchen remains a secret—for now.

About Paulius Vaškas

Paulius Vaškas is a guitarist, bassist, performer, and composer best known for his work with Sheep Got Waxed, Alina Orlova, Džiazlaif, and more recently Ministry of Echology and Garbanotas. He is also an active member of Vilnius’ improvisational jazz community.

His solo performances blend diverse musical influences into an intimate atmosphere that moves between melancholy, stillness, hope, and meditation.

Admission is free and open to everyone.

This event is part of Miesto laboratorija’s Dainykla programme, funded by the Vilnius City Municipality.
