“Beauštanti” (Dawning)

“Rise, little sister, my dear guest,
Have you not yet had enough sleep?”

The New Theatre presents “Beauštanti” – a poetic performance based on the works of Maironis.

Maironis’ poetry is the rhythm that continues to shape the Lithuanian language today. Just as centuries ago, “Pavasario balsai” (Voices of Spring) and the love story of Jūratė and Kastytis remain at the heart of Lithuanian unity and national identity.

In this poetic performance, his verses come alive through traditional songs, music, and dance, intertwining into a single narrative about the awakening of a nation.
