On July 14, 2026, at 20:00, Maestro Vladas Bagdonas will take the stage of the summer terrace at the live music bar Artistai in Vilnius. Together with composer, pianist, and song arranger Audrius Balsys, he will perform his most beloved songs in the program Bagdoniškos Dainos. What these songs will sound like today, what new colors they will gain as the dust of time is brushed away, and what themes the present-day Vladas Bagdonas will explore—this mystery will be revealed only during this unique summer concert.
Since the 1970s, Vladas Bagdonas has embodied legendary roles on the Lithuanian stage, including Daukantas, Pirosmanis, Othello, Faust, and Zorba, working with directors such as Dalia Tamulevičiūtė, Jonas Vaitkus, and Eimuntas Nekrošius. Music has often paralleled his acting career, both during his studies and later in collaboration with composers Vygantas Telksnys and Alvydas Jegelevičius. Speaking about his musical performances, Bagdonas humorously notes: “I am not a musician; I am an artist performing a concert.”
In 2017, he released his album of original songs Liekantiems būti, followed in 2020 by a best-of collection Medžio degimas. His latest album, Bėk, Bagdonai, bėk, was released in 2025 on CD and LP.
The concert is presented by music experts Bardai LT.
