Join us for a special Tango Evening at Vilnius Town Hall Square, celebrating Argentina’s Independence Day.
Although Argentina celebrates its Independence Day on 9 July, the festivities continue in Vilnius with an evening dedicated to the country that gave the world tango. Expect an unforgettable celebration of music, elegance, dance, and Argentine spirit.
Since 1999, 4TANGO and Eduardo Gimenez have been pioneers of Argentine tango in Lithuania. Through performances, dance, singing, and cultural initiatives, they have played a key role in building Lithuania’s tango community and sharing this unique art form with both locals and visitors.
Tango is a universal language. It is one of the few cultural traditions that transcends spoken words, bringing people together through music, movement, and emotion. While almost everyone recognizes the word tango, only a live performance can truly reveal its essence.
The programme will feature:
Part of the evening will invite everyone onto the dance floor, while another part offers the chance to simply listen, close your eyes, and immerse yourself in the music.
Performers
Eduardo Gimenez is one of Lithuania’s leading ambassadors of Argentine tango. Since 1999, he has actively promoted tango culture as a dancer, singer, event organiser, and community builder.
4TANGO, founded in 1999, performs both traditional tango and tango nuevo.
