VOICES OF AMERICA: Royal Blues Choir (Oregon, USA)

On June 30, The Royal Blues will perform at St. Catherine’s Church. Hailing from Portland, Oregon (USA), the choir is one of America’s most acclaimed youth chamber ensembles, with more than five decades of bringing its distinctive sound to audiences across the United States and around the world.

The ensemble is made up of around 30 of the most talented students from Grant High School, united by exceptional musicianship and a shared passion for choral music.
Over the years, the choir has toured extensively, performing in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, and other European countries. In 2005, it was invited to perform at the prestigious national conference of the American Choral Directors Association at Los Angeles’ Walt Disney Concert Hall.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The Vilnius concert will feature a diverse repertoire spanning Renaissance masterpieces, contemporary choral works, sacred music, American folk traditions, and imaginative arrangements of popular music. The program includes compositions by Arvo Pärt, Pärt Uusberg, Elaine Hagenberg, Moses Hogan, and other renowned composers.
The choir is conducted by John A. Eisemann, who collaborates with leading vocal ensembles around the world and is the founder of the professional early music group Evenstar Ensemble.
