June 13 is officially Knitters Day. And what could be better than celebrating it together by the Neris river?
“The Knotty Ones”, “Knitomanija” and “Mezgėjų Brunch Vilnius” invite you to celebrate International Knitters Day on the banks of the Neris in Vilnius. On Saturday afternoon, we’ll come together to create one collective artwork – a field of flowers. The event is dedicated to celebrating the craft of knitting and the people who continue to keep it alive today.
Each participant is invited to knit one flower, which by the end of the day will become part of the collective flower field. Bring your knitting needles, yarn, and a picnic blanket, sit by the river, meet fellow knitters, and spend the afternoon within the knitting community.
The event is open to everyone – from experienced knitters to those picking up knitting needles for the very first time. We’ll have flower knitting patterns prepared on-site, and professional knitters from “The Knotty Ones” will be there to help beginners get started.
