Street Theatre Parade directed by Vytautas Kontrimas

The International University Theatre Festival will once again make its presence felt by setting off on a theatrical journey through the Old Town of Vilnius.

From the Grand Courtyard of Vilnius University to the Vilnius Theatre “Lėlė,” a vibrant procession of young actors will stretch out, filled with music, movement, and improvisation—accompanied by members of the VU wind orchestra “Oktava.” Pilies Street and the surrounding spaces will transform into a lively stage environment, with planned stops including the House of the Signatories, Konstantinas Sirvydas Square, Town Hall Square, and Jonas Basanavičius Square, where theatre troupes will present short street performances, inviting passersby to experience theatre in unexpected places. If you encounter the parade participants, join them and travel along! This will be an open celebration of the city, inviting everyone to experience theatre here and now.
