Single-exhibit exhibition “Denmark Reborn in Maps”

To celebrate 35 years of friendship with Denmark, we invite you to the exclusive single-exhibit exhibition “Denmark Reborn in Maps”, part of the “Year with Denmark” event cycle.

“Atlas minor” is one of the most important early European atlases, prepared based on the works of the famous cartographer Gerardus Mercator (1512–1594) and further developed and adapted for a wider audience by Jodocus Hondius (1563–1612) in 1609.

This publication introduced a smaller, more convenient atlas format that was accessible not only to scholars but also to a broader circle of readers. It features detailed maps of Europe, Asia, Africa, and America, reflecting the geographical and political knowledge of that time.

In the atlas, you can see a detailed map of Denmark during the country’s golden age, which is currently on display in this single-exhibit exhibition.

Visitors will be able to view the exhibit from August 3 through August 30.
