JAN KOPŘIVA (organ, Czechia)
For many who have been to organist Jan Kopřiva’s concerts at least once, his name becomes a standard for the highest artistic quality – not only for his excellent handling of the instrument but also for his pure artistic vision.
He doesn’t bother with “personal discovery” or false effects, but rather enchants audiences with his conceptual programmes, and unbelievably stylish and tasteful interpretations. That’s why each time this performer takes to the stage, it makes little difference how often you may have heard one or another work – what’s more interesting is how it will sound specifically this time.
On this occasion, in his programme Kopřiva will reveal his special relationship with the work of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis: “I hope that after this concert, you’ll have heard Čiurlionis’ music in a different way, and will fall in love with it as much as I have”, says the performer.
Programme features music by Max Reger, Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, Rudolf Bartmuss
