PAUSE. WRITE. RELEASE.

On 21 July, we invite you to a cosy evening of writing and inner calm at the VU Botanical Garden in Kairėnai. This evening is for women who wish to slow down, put their thoughts on paper, release inner tension, and spend time surrounded by nature without rushing.

Sometimes there are simply too many thoughts. They circle, repeat, and accumulate. Yet what we long for inside is not another answer, but silence. Writing can become a space where you do not need to phrase your thoughts beautifully or be a “writer”. It is enough to pause, write down what is present in this moment, and allow yourself to hear what lies beneath the surface.

Together with writer and psychologist Greta Lietuvninkaitė, we will explore reflective writing, try out journaling techniques, and discover how writing can help us create a greater sense of inner calm.

What will you experience during the evening?
Learn how to begin writing when your mind feels overcrowded.
Try reflective writing techniques that help release tension.
Experience how writing can help you listen to yourself more deeply.
Explore how writing can reveal what often goes unnoticed in everyday life.
Create more silence, clarity, and inner calm.
Join a warm, intimate group with plenty of space for yourself, silence, and listening.
End the evening with a calming meditation to release physical, mental, and emotional tension.

Evening programme

  • 17:00–20:00
Reflective writing practice with Greta Lietuvninkaitė

Throughout the evening, we will write, pause, reflect, and explore practical techniques that help us put into words what has been building up inside. This is not a creative writing class, and no previous writing experience is required. The most important thing is simply to arrive with whatever is present for you at this moment.

  • 20:00–21:00
A calming evening meditation to release physical, mental, and emotional tension

The meditation will help you gently bring the evening to a close, calm your body, and return to a place of inner stillness.
Light plant-based refreshments will be served during the evening. They will be free from gluten, sugar, lactose, meat, and eggs.

About the facilitator: Greta Lietuvninkaitė
Greta Lietuvninkaitė is a writer and the author of the books Slėpynės and Du vandenynai. Having studied psychology, she has been running her “Write It Out” writing workshops in Iceland since 2019.
She recently presented the success story of these workshops at the international Journaling Festival in Barcelona. This is a unique opportunity to take part in Greta’s very first writing workshop in Lithuania.
Greta will share reflective writing techniques that we will practise together and experience their benefits first-hand. These methods were born in the silence of a distant fjord, where writing became a source of support even during the darkest time of the year.
“Gather enough of them in your hands, and they can carry you through even the darkest winter,” Greta jokes.
