Painting Exhibition “Windows to the World” by Anna Reviakina

On July 2 at 7:00 p.m., Vilnius Town Hall will host the opening of “Windows to the World”, a painting exhibition by artist Anna Reviakina. The opening evening will include a meeting with the artist. The exhibition will be on view at Vilnius Town Hall until July 30.

The exhibition presents the artist’s latest paintings, in which the motifs of the window, the sky and the gaze into the world become central. The works invite viewers not only to observe images of light, clouds, dawn or twilight, but also to experience subtle emotional states, premonitions and inner transformations.

Art critic Vaidilutė Brazauskaitė-Lupeikienė, introducing the artist’s work, emphasizes that A. Reviakina’s paintings go beyond the impression of a skyscape. According to her, they are an attempt to touch the metaphysics of existence — the unknown, yet deeply compelling world that one seeks to understand.

“Each of us looks at the world through a window differently — our thoughts, feelings and moods are constantly changing. Every time we look through a window, or an imagined window, we see a different world,” notes V. Brazauskaitė-Lupeikienė.

A. Reviakina began her professional path in the field of architecture and studied at the Vilnius Academy of Arts, yet throughout her creative journey she has consistently worked in the field of visual art as well. Her work reveals a strong foundation in drawing, a sensitive line and layered painting, allowing her to create a sense of space, depth and three-dimensionality.

In recent years, the artist has been developing a large-scale painting cycle, works from which have been exhibited at Godo Gallery, Stadium Gallery and in the attic space of Bernardine Church. The exhibition presented at Vilnius Town Hall continues this creative stage and opens new painterly “windows to the world” in one of the city’s historic spaces.
