MIGRANT BODIES
Intermedial movement performance
Director Daniel Ariza Gomez
Choreographer Claudia Leguizamón Londoño
Dancer Mariana Ariza Hernandez
This is a performance that uses the artificial intelligence tool “mAnIla” to create a dialogue between a living performer, her digitized memories, and a virtual being created by the artificial intelligence that acts as an alter ego, shadow, or embodied memory. The title conveys the paradox of the migrant body: a body that has left but never completely separated from those who have remained; a body that has arrived in a foreign land but never returned to the one who migrated… “Migrant Bodies” explores the ghostly being left behind by distance and memory.
Duration 25 min.
