Those Moments… Like a Desert Wind | Dalius Naujokaitis Solo

Dalius Naujokaitis’ solo concert in memory of Audrius Naujokaitis. Improvisation together with video and sound material from the past.

This time at the Music Magic Club, Dalius will perform a solo of percussion, drums, piano, and electronics.

In a certain part of the concert, Dalius will improvise together with a 20-minute projected audiovisual montage by poet and filmmaker Julius Ziz, created by Audrius Naujokaitis, Eugenijus Varkalis, and Jonas Mekas. These are moments of musical evenings with friends at the Anthology Film Archives in New York, and Jonas Mekas’ solo drums from 1996–1997.

Dalius will also improvise with a 10-minute projected audiovisual material filmed by Jonas Lozoraitis from the “Nojo Airlines Orchestra” concert at Down Town Forest Hostel in 2025 in Vilnius.

Dalius Naujokaitis is a pilgrim of avant-garde experimental music and free jazz, currently living and creating in New York (USA). He began his musical career in Lithuania and regularly returns here with various projects. Dalius Naujokaitis-Naujo is a free musician who plays free music, free from any musical clichés and stylistic frameworks, from traditional sound production methods, and from conventional forms of creation. Into his musical fabric, the entire rich sounding world has seeped – including elements of music from various countries and regions, features of different directions and genres, and the sounds and noises of the surrounding world. An artist and performer distinguished by extraordinary expressiveness, he finds music everywhere – from the sounds of nature to the sounds of cities, and objects touched by his hands can become musical instruments, such as dishes, stair railings, a saw, etc.
