The well-known fairy tale about a wicked stepmother who turns her stepsons into birds, and their sister who sets out on a long and difficult journey to save them, has become particularly relevant in today’s world, according to the creators.
How can we live together and survive in a threatening world where life is not valued? These are difficult questions that cause concern for both children and adults. They matter to the whole family. According to the creators, the fairy tale offers valuable lessons that are central to the performance: pursuing a goal, protecting and caring for one’s family, helping one another, and learning to be patient and brave.
This fairy tale is being presented for the first time at Vilnius Theatre “Lėlė”. The performance uses a variety of artistic techniques drawn from puppet and object theatre, clowning and street theatre.
