Screenings of Film Classics in the Cinematheque Hall

The Cinematheque hall invites Vilnius residents and city guests to screenings of film classics!

The legendary historical non-commercial cinema in Vilnius screens a permanent repertoire of films in 35 mm format.

The Lithuanian Cinema Association’s classic film screenings present the works of the most famous Lithuanian filmmakers from the film archive that were created between the fifties and the nineties of the 20^th century.

In the only non-modernised cinema in Lithuania, films are shown on film projectors installed inside the theatre hall as it used to be in the days of cinema’s origins in the late 19^th and early 20^th centuries or the time of the travelling cinema until the sixties of the 20^th century in our country.

All films are screened exclusively directly from the film reels thus presenting the works in their original forms and providing the audience with a unique viewing experience of the mechanical cinema projection.

Weekly free of charge screenings take place on Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the Cinematheque hall, except for the last Thursday of the month, when films from the 16 mm film evening repertoire are also shown there.
