Povilas Norkūnas is a prominent young concert pianist, performing annually on some of Lithuania’s most important stages. Lithuanian audiences have already experienced his interpretations at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic, Sapiegos and Valdovai Palaces, St. Catherine’s Church, Vilnius Town Hall, the Organum concert hall, Paliesius Manor, and other venues across the country. Beyond Lithuania, he is also expanding his international presence, having performed at Gödöllő Palace in Hungary and Temple du Bas in Switzerland.
Povilas began his musical journey at the age of seven at the Balys Dvarionas Music School. He continued his studies at the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts, later trained under Prof. Jurgis Karnavičius at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, and since 2025 has been studying at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media with Prof. Ewa Kupiec.
Alongside his concert career, he actively participates in competitions. In March 2026, at the 10th International Stasys Vainiūnas Piano Competition, he won 1st prize and additional concert awards in Lithuania. Among other achievements are 1st prize at the 4th International Piano Competition “Lisztofonija,” reaching the semifinals of the 9th International M. K. Čiurlionis Piano Competition, and the finals of the “Piano Neuchâtel – Val de Travers” competition in Switzerland.
He is also an alumnus of the Mstislav Rostropovich Charity and Support Foundation. In 2024, he became one of three selected participants in the “Young Performers Residency” program and performed a solo recital broadcast live on Lithuanian National Radio.
