Simona Smirnova & Alec Hutson in Concert

Join us for an intimate summer evening with New York-based musical duo Simona Smirnova and Alec Hutson.

Simona Smirnova is a vocalist, composer, and performer who has spent more than a decade introducing the unique sound of the kanklės (the traditional Lithuanian zither) to audiences around the world while living and creating in the United States. Together with her life and musical partner Alec Hutson—a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and performer—she will present a new concert program dedicated to the Year of the Kanklės.

The performance will weave together original compositions and newly arranged Lithuanian folk songs. Featuring kanklės, vocals, saxophone, and guitar, the concert blends traditional melodies with contemporary musical interpretations.

This event is part of the accompanying program for the exhibition “On the Wave of the Paris Exhibitions: Ethnography, Cultural Diplomacy and Identity.”
