The cinema and environmental awareness project “Sengirės kinas” invites you to a film screening at the National Visitor Centre. On June 3 at 18:00, the documentary “Primatologists’ Trio” will be shown.
“TRIMATES” (directed by Mark Starowicz, Caitlin Starowicz, 2020, Canada, USA, 2 episodes x 60 min, English with Lithuanian subtitles)
The film tells the intertwined story of two generations of women: the pioneering young primatologists Jane Goodall, Dian Fossey, and Birutė Galdikas, who over half a century ago went into the jungle to live alongside our closest relatives — the great apes.
It is also a story about the generation inspired by their research, who read their articles, were captivated by their journeys, and chose to follow similar distant paths. The film invites viewers into the jungles and mountains of Uganda, Borneo, and Congo, exploring the limits of scientific research and the origins of humanity.
The screening is free of charge. Viewers who wish to support the project are invited to donate to the Sengirė Fund (www.sengiresfondas.lt).
As part of the “Sengirės kinas” initiative, the film will be shown in more than 80 locations across Lithuania from June 1–7.
