Musica Notturna | Culture Night 2026

The Vilnius University Chamber Orchestra invites you to its annual, already traditional Culture Night festival concert “Musica notturna.”

The program of this evening will open the doors to a diverse world of chamber music. Works by Vivaldi, Haydn, Mozart, Vieuxtemps, and other composers will be performed for orchestra and soloists. In this concert, the soloist roles will be taken by the orchestra members themselves and young talented instrumentalists.

The orchestra will present a wide musical palette – from the subtlety and elegance of the Baroque period to the expressiveness and bold harmonies of contemporary music.

“Musica notturna” promises not only aesthetic enjoyment but also a sensitive and inspiring musical experience, inviting the listener to focus and experience the beauty of music in a sacred space.

Concert duration: 1 hour (no intermission)

The Vilnius University Chamber Orchestra has been bringing together students from different fields of study since 1979, cultivating the tradition of chamber music at the university. The orchestra’s repertoire spans various eras – from Baroque and Classical to contemporary music. The VU Chamber Orchestra performs in Lithuania and abroad, representing the university in various projects and stages. The orchestra is part of the VU Culture Center, which unites 16 artistic ensembles and creative studios and annually invites the university community and city audiences to diverse cultural experiences.
