“Dialogues with Čiurlionis” | Vincenzo De Martino

After a short break, the concert series “Dialogues with Čiurlionis” returns to the M. K. Čiurlionis House. In the first concert of the new season, Italian pianist Vincenzo De Martino will present the programme “Echoes of Čiurlionis”.

“Echoes of Čiurlionis” is a three-part musical journey connecting the sound worlds of M. K. Čiurlionis and other composers, while revealing links between humanity, nature and the universe.

Italian pianist Vincenzo De Martino has been living in Lithuania since 2015. He studied piano at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in Professor Jurgis Karnavičius’ piano class, obtaining his master’s degree in 2017 and completing his artistic doctorate in 2021. The pianist is a finalist and laureate of various international competitions and has performed in Italy, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland and the Baltic States. He actively researches the music of Lithuanian composers, whose works have long been an integral part of his repertoire.

Over its seven years of existence, “Dialogues with Čiurlionis” has become an integral part of the M. K. Čiurlionis House’s cultural programme. The aim of the series is to encourage foreign pianists to include Čiurlionis’ works in their concert programmes and present them in their home countries and while performing in different parts of the world. Thanks to this series, M. K. Čiurlionis’ music has already been performed in Norway, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and other countries.
