MKČ26 | “FIVE INSPIRATIONS” | NICO & GEDIMINAS GELGOTAS

The XIV International M. K. Čiurlionis Music Festival presents a special concert – Five Inspirations, a celebratory programme performed by NICO and Gediminas Gelgotas as the ensemble marks its 20th anniversary season.

NICO performances leave no audience indifferent: concerts end in enthusiastic ovations, while tickets disappear like the first snow of winter. Each concert is a complete stage experience in which instrumental music naturally intertwines with movement, vocals, stage effects and artistic lighting. Every detail is carefully considered, creating a lasting impression that remains long after the stage lights have faded.

NICO has received standing ovations at Carnegie Hall in New York, Gewandhaus in Leipzig, and many other concert halls around the world. The ensemble has performed for Pope Francis and the Dalai Lama, as well as for presidents of foreign countries and other distinguished guests.

In 2026, NICO dedicates its anniversary concerts to composers whose music has become an integral part of the ensemble’s artistic identity and repertoire – iconic figures of minimalism and post-minimalism Philip Glass, Arvo Pärt, Max Richter and Ludovico Einaudi, alongside the music of Gediminas Gelgotas himself.

The concert at the International M. K. Čiurlionis Music Festival will be particularly special, bringing together, in a single evening at Vilnius Town Hall, highlights from all five individual programmes.
