“DIALOGUES WITH ČIURLIONIS” | POVILAS UŠINSKIS

Pianist Povilas Ušinskis will conclude the 2026 concert series “Dialogues with Čiurlionis”. On November 19, at the M. K. Čiurlionis House, he will present a programme dedicated to the music and writings of M. K. Čiurlionis.

The concert programme will feature M. K. Čiurlionis’ piano works from different periods of his creative life, complemented by literary texts written by the composer and artist himself.

Povilas Ušinskis is actively involved in the concert life of Šiauliai and has performed numerous times with the Šiauliai City Symphony Orchestra “Camerata Solaris” and the Šiauliai City Wind Orchestra. As an ambassador of Šiauliai and M. K. Čiurlionis, he is frequently invited to perform Čiurlionis’ works at festivals in Lithuania and abroad.

In 2025, Povilas became the winner of the 14th Riga International Competition for Young Pianists, where he received a scholarship to participate in the 10th Feuerwerk Einbeck Piano Academy and Masterclasses 2026. The pianist has received more than ten awards at competitions in Lithuania, and in 2024 he was presented with the Šiauliai UNESCO Club Award for his artistic achievements and for promoting his hometown. That same year, he became a recipient of the Šiauliai Young Artist Scholarship, while in 2023 he was nominated for the “Guardian Angel” Award of the Order of St. Casimir.

In 2026, the pianist graduated from the Šiauliai Saulius Sondeckis Arts Gymnasium, where he studied piano in the class of teacher Raimonda Sližienė. He is currently studying at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in the class of Prof. Jurgis Karnavičius.


Over its seven years, “Dialogues with Čiurlionis” has become an integral part of the cultural programme of the M. K. Čiurlionis House. The aim of the series is to encourage pianists to include Čiurlionis’ works in their concert repertoires and present them in their own countries and in various parts of the world. Thanks to this series, M. K. Čiurlionis’ music has already been performed in Norway, Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Estonia, Latvia and other countries.
