Kristina Čivilė. Social Adaptations

Kristina Čivilė is an artist who graduated in Art Education from Šiauliai University. She has created several frescoes in Linkuva and Taujėnai, yet painting has always remained the central focus of her artistic practice. In her work, painting is not a means of conveying a clear message but rather an ongoing dialogue between intuition and concept, emotion and composition, spontaneity and inner reflection.

In the exhibition “Social Adaptations”, the artist explores the relationship between the individual and society, the need to belong, and the search for authenticity. Her paintings reflect the tension between the desire to fit in and the need to remain true to oneself, revealing inner emotional states, the pressure of social roles, and the complexities of personal identity. Rather than offering judgment, the exhibition invites viewers to reflect on how many of their choices are shaped by external expectations and how many arise from their genuine selves, suggesting that true freedom begins when we stop trying to fit in and allow ourselves simply to be.
