The international concert series “American Voices” begins this summer, inviting audiences to discover the rich traditions of American choral music and the many voices of the U.S. choral landscape.
The opening concert will take place on June 21 and will feature the Orpheus Male Chorus of Phoenix from Arizona, USA.
The Orpheus Male Chorus of Phoenix is the longest continuously performing chorus in the state of Arizona and is currently celebrating its remarkable 97th season. Since its founding in 1929, the ensemble has brought together men from diverse professions and backgrounds, united by a shared passion for choral music and a strong spirit of community.
PROGRAMME
The concert program brings together American musical traditions and choral classics, ranging from sacred music and African American spirituals to contemporary works, Broadway favorites, and iconic American songs.
Audiences will hear music inspired by Bob Dylan, interpretations of American folk traditions, songs celebrating the legendary Route 66, and compositions that showcase the richness and diversity of American musical culture.
