Aiste Gureviciute’s illustration exhibition “Once Upon a Time”

Long before the world became hurried and loud, there was a language spoken by stars, forests, and quiet hearts. It was the language of wonder—the one children know instinctively and many adults spend a lifetime trying to remember.

‘Once Upon a Time’ is an invitation to step through that invisible doorway.
Within this collection, goddesses emerge as guardians of intuition and creation, mushrooms become bridges between worlds, portals open to hidden realms, and snails carry entire universes upon their backs. Every line and pattern is woven as a meditation, a map, or perhaps a memory from somewhere beyond this life.

The snail, moving gently through time, reminds us that the soul has no need to rush. The mushroom whispers of transformation and the unseen magic beneath the surface. The goddess reflects the eternal creative force that lives within nature and within ourselves. And the portals ask a simple question: What if there is more than what our eyes can see?

These drawings are not meant to be understood with the mind alone. They invite you to slow down, to wander, and to reconnect with the part of yourself that still believes the universe is alive with mystery.
Perhaps fairytales were never just stories.
