Poetic Play: BEAUŠTANTI (based on the works of Maironis)

The New Theatre presents the poetic play BEAUŠTANTI (based on the works of Maironis).

Maironis’ poems carry a rhythm that keeps the Lithuanian language alive today. Just as two centuries ago, the voices of Spring and the love story of Jūratė and Kastytis remain at the roots of Lithuanian unity and national identity. Set among sutartinės (traditional polyphonic songs), music, and dance, in the poetic play BEAUŠTANTI, these verses intertwine into a single story about the awakening of our nation.
