In the summer, the ongoing concert series “The Sounding Čiurlionis Vilnius” returns to the M. K. Čiurlionis House.
This time, the program features young Danish pianist Rune Leicht Lund. Despite his age, the pianist has already won numerous awards in national and international piano competitions and became one of the finalists of the prestigious F. Liszt Piano Competition in Utrecht 2025/2026.
In 2021, he won 3rd prize at the 10th International Franz Liszt Piano Competition in Weimar/Bayreuth, along with two special prizes — for the best interpretation of Liszt’s Sonata in B minor and for the best performance of a classical sonata.
He has performed in venues and festivals such as Konzerthaus Berlin, Rheingau Musik Festival, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Tivoli Concert Hall, and DR Concert Hall. As a soloist, he has appeared with orchestras including the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Staatskapelle Weimar, and the Toruń Symphony Orchestra.
A graduate of the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien (MuK), Rune Leicht Lund is currently continuing his studies in Sweden at the Ingesund School of Music. He is supported by the Jacob Gade Foundation and the Betty and Valdemar van Hauen Foundation.
