Theatre Performance “Hymn to Love”
“I want to tell people the most beautiful love story in Lithuania,” says the performance’s director and scriptwriter, Livija Krivickaitė-Aliukonė, a researcher of the lives of Sofija and Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis.
“Hymn to Love” is a sensitive, poetic performance about the lives of two remarkable individuals – Sofija Kymantaitė and Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis – woven together through their letters and memories.
The audience is invited on a journey in which two souls become intertwined forever: searching, longing, creating and complementing one another.
The journey is accompanied live by pianist Rokas Zubovas, M. K. Čiurlionis’s great-grandson. His performance of his great-grandfather’s music creates a connection between time and space.
