“Bambeklis Bajoras” – A continuation of A. Giniotis’ trilogy of children’s plays based on Lithuanian fairy tale motifs.
After the theatrical appearance of “Jonas Kareivis”, the later arrival of “Mykolas Žvejys”, and the lazily drifting “Juzė Dykaduonis”, now comes “Bambeklis Bajoras”.
Like the previous plays, “Bambeklis Bajoras” is a story about an extraordinary person with a unique surname, which became a symbol of his fate and determined his future life. An aristocrat from a Lithuanian village one day realizes that his native land is too small and bleak for him: neither the homes, nor the fields, nor the people seem fitting for his noble lineage. The only option left is to leave for the vast world and find a place worthy of his distinguished persona.
