Interveatinal Virgilijus Noreika Competition for Singers

At the end of March 2023, the International Virgilijus Noreika competition for Singers will be held in Vilnius. Vocalists under the age of 35 will come from all over the world and will perform arias from famous operas. The competition organizers want to popularize the genre of classical music and encourage residents and visitors of Vilnius city to spend their free time meaningfully. The competition is intended not only to attract young singers, to represent the name of Lithuania all over the world but also to remember maestro Virgilijus Noreika, whose contribution to Lithuanian musical culture and educational activities is priceless. The competition has 3 rounds. The first two will be held in the National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts and the final round will take place at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater with the LNOBT Symphony Orchestra conducted by Modestras Pitrėnas. Competition provides an opportunity to discover young musical talents and gives them the opportunity to show themselves and pursue further careers. Participants will be evaluated not only by the jury members but also by the agents of foreign theatres and concert halls, who established concert prizes – for the winners to perform in the most famous concert halls in Europe. It is also an interactive, interesting and intriguing event for the audience because you will get the opportunity to vote for your favourite artist in the final round of the competition.
