007 – Legendary Songs from James Bond Films | María and Vytautas Straižys

On November 5, María (Marija Arutiunova) and Vytautas Straižys will take audiences at DOWNTOWN PIANO LAB on an unforgettable musical journey through legendary songs from James Bond films, including Skyfall, Goldfinger and many more.

This will be more than just a traditional performance of popular songs. The music will take on a fresh sound, enriched with unexpected arrangements, colourful harmonies and subtle improvisations.

María is an exceptional and charismatic soloist, one of the most prominent performers at the Kaunas State Musical Theatre. She has performed more than 20 roles, including the title role in the musical Elisabeth.

The singer has received the Fortūna Award and been nominated for the Golden Stage Cross Award. Her voice can be heard in opera, operetta, musicals, popular music, films, animated productions and television series. María’s performances are distinguished by technical mastery, emotional power and an extraordinary stage presence.

Vytautas Straižys is a pianist who graduated from the M. K. Čiurlionis School of Arts and completed a master’s degree in jazz at the Royal Conservatoire in the Netherlands.

His music combines jazz, classical music and improvisation, drawing inspiration from artists ranging from Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans and Herbie Hancock to Sergei Rachmaninoff and Claude Debussy.
