Pianist and composer Giedrius Nakas presents a programme of original music featuring compositions from his jazz albums. His music brings modern jazz together with neo-soul, hip-hop, classical music, rock and the dramatic storytelling of film scores. One moment it can be delicate, lyrical and hypnotic; the next, it bursts with vibrant energy, unexpected rhythms and improvisation.

One of Giedrius’s standout releases is “No Fear, Full Of Love”, recorded in New York with internationally acclaimed US jazz musicians Ben Williams, Justin Brown, Troy Roberts and Caleb Curtis. Its compositions feature memorable melodies, striking contrasts and a constant balance between carefully written music and spontaneous improvisation.

Another important milestone is “The Dream I Forgot”. Its music evokes a dream or a film without a screen: extended, multi-part compositions gradually build tension, shift moods and unfold a narrative of their own. The focus is as much on the ensemble’s sensitive interplay as on individual virtuosity, giving each live performance new colours.

Giedrius Nakas studied in Vilnius, The Hague, Groningen and New York, and has performed widely across Europe and the United States. Lithuanian audiences also know him through collaborations with Andrius Mamontovas, Jurga, Monika Liu, Monika Linkytė, Saulės Kliošas and other prominent artists. He has presented his original music at Kaunas Jazz, Šiauliai Jazz, Paliesius Manor and other concert venues.
