KOMMON invites you to a special event series dedicated to discovering what connects us as different people – what we have in common.
On August 20 at 18:00, we invite you to meet in one of the most impressive spaces of Vilnius University – the Vincas Krėvė Hall. We believe that the culture of writing is best explored in a place where language, literature, and ideas have been nurtured for centuries.
The guest speaker of the event is Donata Banaitytė, a professional journaling coach, who will introduce participants to the globally popular practice of journaling.
What is journaling?
Journaling is a mindful writing practice focused not on the outcome, but on the process itself. It helps us pause, reflect on everyday experiences, better understand our thoughts, and nurture emotional well-being. It is time dedicated to yourself – without judgment, rules, or the pressure to write “correctly”.
During the workshop, you will:
• explore the history, principles, and different methods of journaling;
• learn about the benefits this practice can bring to everyday life;
• take part in a practical journaling session, where you will try different writing techniques.
The event will be moderated by Laurita Markevičiūtė-Zakarevičė – alumna of Vilnius University’s Faculty of Philology, expert in Lithuanian-German relations, and CEO of KOMMON.
Important: Please bring your own notebook and pen.
The event is free and open to everyone. Registration is required as the number of places is limited: https://kommon.lt/wpa-events/pazintis-su-journaling/
How to find the Vincas Krėvė Hall?
Enter the M. K. Sarbievijus Courtyard of the Faculty of Philology at Vilnius University (Universiteto St. 5, 01513 Vilnius). Walk all the way to the end, turn left, and pass through the narrow tunnel – you will arrive at a new courtyard. Enter the building on the right marked “Domus Philologiae”. There will be stairs on your right – go up to the second floor and walk straight along the long corridor. When you reach the Writers’ Hall, turn left and you will find the Vincas Krėvė Hall on your right.
The event is organised by KOMMON Social Wellness Club together with the Faculty of Philology of Vilnius University and the German-Baltic Future Foundation.
