THE BOURBON BROTHERS – “I‘m The Blues“
About event

THE BOURBON BROTHERS take you on a journey into the darker corners of the blues, where pain smolders, irony lurks, and the fire of life burns bright. The concert weaves together original compositions by charismatic multi-instrumentalist Pavel Arakelian and timeless blues classics. Joining the band’s outstanding musicians as a special guest will be singer and guitarist James Walmsley (UK/Ireland).

Pavel Arakelian – vocals, keyboards, saxophone
James Walmsley – vocals, guitar
Aliaksei Kryshtal – bass
Giuseppe De Nisi – drums

Don’t expect polished arrangements or sweet, sentimental lyrics – this is raw, living blues, filled with pain and joy, soul-stirring chords, wild rhythms, and infectious energy.

Pavel Arakelian, a versatile musician and composer who has won the hearts of Lithuania’s jazz fans, makes no secret of his love for the blues. Forced to leave Belarus due to political persecution, Pavel settled in Lithuania, where he composed the original pieces featured in this program. He describes the music as a reflection on forced exile, the search for one’s place in life, and the longing for a new home. Symbolically, the roots of the blues are also linked to forced migration. At the same time, the program pays tribute to blues legends Buddy Guy, Willie Dixon, Muddy Waters, and B. B. King, whose music has been a constant source of inspiration for Pavel.
