When silence falls, voices become light.
What happens when more than forty voices merge with light in a magnificent architectural setting? This autumn, the Momentum Choir invites you to discover its new concert programme, Where the Miracle Begins.
The concert Where the Miracle Begins will feature the latest choral works by Lithuanian composers, revealing the expressive range of a contemporary choir – from fragile phrases emerging from silence to pulsating rhythms, mounting musical tension and the powerful harmonic resonance of more than forty voices. The individual works will come together to form a unified musical and visual tableau, while the dramaturgy of light will follow the flow of the music, accentuate its turning points and build alongside the choir’s majestic sound.
One moment brings a single voice, a flash of light and a breath held in suspense; the next, choral sound and light flood time and space. This is an opportunity to discover the sound of Lithuania’s newest choral music, experience the power of the human voice and feel how the art of music can transform and purify the human soul. Come and listen to the silence before the first note. Watch the vaults of St Catherine’s Church fill with light. And discover where the miracle begins.
The programme features works by V. Augustinas, E. Alekna, M. Drūlia, I. J. Šimkus and D. Zakaras.
