The international monodrama festival “MonoRytai” will take place for the eighth time from October 22 to 26. This year’s programme is the largest yet, featuring eleven performances, including three premieres, as well as the opening of an exhibition of stained glass and glass artworks and other festival events. Artists from Lithuania, Poland, the United States, Scotland and Ukraine will take to the stage.
The festival is organised by the Vilnius Polish Theatre “Studija”, which has been promoting Polish performing arts in Lithuania and bringing together Polish theatre artists working abroad for many years.
The theatre’s artistic director and festival director, Lilija Keizik, explains that “MonoRytai” aims to preserve the tradition of monodrama while creating space for contemporary forms of performance, diverse artistic experiences and international dialogue.
Festival events will take place in Vilnius, Trakai, Zujūnai, Eišiškės and Pagiriai.
