SONGS OF SEVEN SUMMERS
About event
A giant wept a lake into existence, a fairy carried a stone only to let it fall, and “behind the curtain, the devil grins foolishly” – revealing the mysterious, archaic and sacred world of Lithuanian mythology.
The programme draws on Lithuanian folk legends and the poetry of Sigitas Geda. The texts are read, recited, sung and chanted.
The programme was created by singer Milda Arčikauskaitė and actor Viačeslavas Lukjanovas, who performs on jaw harps, overtone flute, daf frame drum, didgeridoo, bells, electronic tanpura, percussion and other instruments.
