Premiere! THE BOOGEYMAN | A puppet and object theatre performance

Do you remember the animated film “The Boogeyman” by director Ilja Bereznickas?

More than one generation grew up watching it, dreaming of what it would be like to befriend the Boogeyman himself – a charming, веселый, inventive, and slightly mischievous character.

Now the Boogeyman steps off the screen and onto the theatre stage. In director Milda Mičiulytė’s production, he invites young audiences to a live encounter with imagination, where even the strangest characters become familiar. For parents, it is a chance to revisit a world full of fantasy and the feeling of childhood, when everything seemed possible.

When a storm scatters sleep, the only way to fall asleep again is through a bedtime story told by parents. But what if they don’t have the time? Then you turn to your grandfather.

The performance tells the story of a little girl who, with the help of creativity and her grandfather’s wisdom, turns her fear into a friend. It is a story about loneliness that can be dispelled by imagination, and about friendship that – like dust – cannot simply be swept away.

This story invites young audiences and their parents to befriend their fears, reminding us that creativity is what brings us closer together.
