“MEMORIES OF MIECZYSŁAW FOGG” – WORD AND MUSIC PROGRAMME

“Memories of Mieczysław Fogg” is a unique author-led event during which we will hear, first-hand, previously unknown stories about the life and creative career of one of the most famous Polish singers.

During the event, private photographs of the performer will be shown, accompanied by stories passed down through the family from generation to generation. What was Mieczysław Fogg like in his personal life and on stage? How did his career develop? Do all the legends told about him correspond to reality? We will hear the answers to these and many other questions from the most reliable source – without speculation or assumptions.

The stories will be complemented by songs from Mieczysław Fogg’s repertoire, and the audience will be invited to sing along.

“Foggorama”, “Leć, piosenko”, “Poletko Pana Fogga”, “Z piosenką przez świat” and “Fogg and Rock” are just a few of Mieczysław Fogg’s many stage programmes. During his six decades of creative activity, the performer gave as many as sixteen thousand concerts in Poland and in more than thirty other countries. Now it is time for him to return to our memories.

The event will be hosted by Michał Fogg – head of the Fundacja Retro, patron and one of the organisers of the Mieczysław Fogg National Retro Song Festival. He also heads the Fogg Record music label, which promotes the culture of the interwar period. As a music journalist and DJ, Michał Fogg presents old Polish popular music at dance evenings, organises concerts and recitals, introduces the younger generation to music history and gives older audiences an opportunity to return to their memories. In his personal life, he is Mieczysław Fogg’s great-grandson.
