The classic fairy tale by Charles Perrault comes to life on the Raganiukė Theatre stage in a colorful performance filled with music and gentle humor, perfect for the whole family.

The life of a 17th-century royal family is depicted with playful irony: the king and queen, eager to have children, try all the world’s healing waters. When their long-awaited daughter is finally born, a grand christening is held, to which powerful fairies are invited.

However, one—old and forgotten—is left out…

Offended, she casts a fateful curse that changes the destiny of the entire kingdom. An enchanted forest, a silent castle, and a princess asleep in a deep slumber—together with the entire court and even the fire dozing in the hearth—await their awakening.

The play creates a realistic royal court atmosphere: actors appear in elaborate period costumes, with elegant ladies’ dresses, while the fairies wear light, translucent, magical garments.

This is a sensitive, visually rich story, easy for children to understand, about fate, kindness, and the miracle that happens when it is most needed.
