British alternative rock band LIFE are coming to Vilnius this autumn. They will present their new album “ABSTRACT / NATURAL” at the iconic Kablys on 28 November.
These bold troublemakers from Hull insist that LIFE must always be written in capital letters. Their songs address life’s injustices directly, drawing on personal experience rather than complicated metaphors. It is simply great post-punk.
LIFE are proudly independent and guided by a DIY spirit. They are politically aware, curious, fearless and true to themselves. Anger is their fuel. If you have had a bad day and feel like screaming when you get home, almost any LIFE song will do the job.
LIFE are favourites of BBC Radio 6 Music and have repeatedly appeared on its A-list playlists. “LIFE are one of the fastest-rising bands around and they don’t seem to be going anywhere,” says Dork, while DIY calls them a hidden gem.
Vocalist Mez Green, guitarist Mick Sanders-Green, bassist Lydia Palmeira and drummer Stewart Baxter have created their own creative ecosystem and do an impressive amount of work themselves.
LIFE’s new album “ABSTRACT / NATURAL” marks a bold step forward for the band. Their fourth album blends folklore and mythology with themes of self-discovery.
The record was inspired by the landscapes of Northern England and a physically demanding journey. While writing the album, frontman Mez Sanders-Green walked 193 miles from Britain’s West coast to his home on the east coast. The album explores letting go, moving forward, new adventures and beginnings.
LIFE’s show in Vilnius will be their only performance in the Baltics.
